I would like
to give my personal thanks to everyone who sent
flowers, cards, emails and phone calls to me while I
was recovering from a horse related accident. As we
all know horses are very beautiful and talented
animals but they do require a certain level of
respect. On March 2nd
I was riding a
young horse at another farm that bolted and slung
me off into the fence . It was fortunate that I was
wearing a Tipperary helmet which prevented me from
serious or fatal injuries.
The results
of my injuries were a broken left arm, fracture to
the small bone in
my left leg and fracture to the C2 odontoid
vertebra in my neck. I had surgery on my neck first
which involved putting a screw in my vertebra. The
next day the doctors put a rod in my left arm. The
bone was broken in half right below my shoulder.
All of this
has resulted in me being on disability at Delta
until the doctors approve me to return to my job as
a flight attendant. Unfortunately,
the doctors have recommended that I not ride again.
On the positive side I will continue to run
Stallings Ridge Farm with my husband Fred, teach and
work horses from the ground.
Thanks
again for all the support everyone has given me. I
look forward to seeing everyone at the shows in the
future.
Best
Regards, Linda Stallings
